Life on the team
You will join our Cyber Operations team, helping to provide secure, accurate and timely access to Computacenter systems and applications. Working closely with IAM colleagues, end users and cross-functional teams, you will manage access requests, resolve identity and access incidents, and support governance standards that reduce security risk. The role combines customer service, operational delivery, compliance and continuous improvement, with opportunities to deepen your expertise in identity governance, Microsoft security technologies and automation.
What you'll do
- Triage, investigate and resolve access-related incidents through IT service management tools and agreed processes.
- Process user access requests in line with approved entitlements, role-based access control principles and organisational policies.
- Use identity governance and administration tools to complete provisioning activities efficiently and accurately.
- Perform manual provisioning where required, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and clear audit records.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve complex access issues and provisioning scenarios.
- Keep incident and request tickets updated, communicate outcomes clearly, and escalte risks, delays or bottlenecks promptly.
- Ensure provisioning activities align with information security policies, ISO 27001 controls and internal and external audit requirements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and support automation across access management processes.
- Create, maintain and improve standard operating procedures and knowledge articles for provisioning and incident resolution.
- Manage team and personal inboxes effectively, prioritising requests and responding within agreed expectations.
- Provide relevant operational data and insights to support team initiatives, projects, monitoring and risk mitigation.
- Continue developing your knowledge of access management, security frameworks and compliance requirements through training, certification and self-study.
What you'll need
- 5 to 8 years of experience in information technology, including practical experience in identity and access management.
- 2+ years of experience in a customer service environment, with a strong commitment to service quality.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory and ServiceNow.
- Understanding of access provisioning, role-based access control, least privilege and related identity governance principles.
- A process-driven approach, with the ability to follow controls and maintain accurate records.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- The ability to organise and manage your workload with minimal supervision while meeting operational priorities.
- Awareness of information security and compliance requirements, with the judgement to recognise and upscale potential risks.
Relevant certifications
- Microsoft security or identity certifications such as AZ-500 or SC-300.
Desirable
- A relevant graduate-level qualification or professional certification such as CAMS or CompTIA Security+.
- Knowledge of recognised standards and frameworks, including CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus and GDPR.
- Experience using PowerShell or Microsoft Power Platform to support process automation.
- Good organisational and time-management skills, together with confident use of ServiceNow.
