Job summary

S& S Consulting Engineers seeks a skilled HVAC engineer to review drawings, requirements, and codes; perform heat-load calculations; and develop system concepts including chilled water, VRF/VRV, DX, AHU/FCU, and ventilation packages.

The candidate will size equipment, design ducting, piping, and ventilation layouts, ensuring efficient, code-compliant installations across projects.

Qualifications

• Must be able to review architectural drawings, client requirements, project specifications and codes.
• Capability to perform heat-load calculations considering occupancy, lighting, equipment, envelope, ventilation and fresh air.
• Ability to develop HVAC concepts and select applicable systems such as chilled water, VRF/VRV, DX, AHU/FCU, package units and ventilation systems.
• Experience in equipment selection and sizing for chillers, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, fans and related equipment.
• Proficiency in duct sizing, routing, pressure-drop calculations and external static pressure calculations.
• Design experience for chilled-water piping including sizing, flow and pump head calculations.
• Design of fresh-air, exhaust and ventilation systems.

• Carry out equipment selection and sizing for chillers, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, fans, ventilation equipment, etc.
• Prepare duct sizing, routing, pressure-drop calculations, and external static pressure calculations.
• Design chilled-water piping, including pipe sizing, flow calculations, pump head calculations, valve arrangements, and schematics.
• Design fresh-air, toilet exhaust, kitchen exhaust, basement ventilation, and mechanical ventilation systems.
