Job summary

Sterling & Wilson is seeking an experienced HVAC Construction Manager for the Hazira/ Dahej site. You will plan, supervise, and manage all onsite HVAC construction activities, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence while following approved drawings and specifications.

Lead site teams, coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Plumbing, QA/QC and clients; review IFC drawings, BOQs, and ensure installation of ducting, AHU/FCU, chillers, and ventilation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed construction plans, schedules, and manpower deployment strategies for HVAC works.
  • Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, and project specifications.
  • Plan and oversee installation activities for ducting, chilled water piping, VRV/VRF, and ventilation systems (AHU/FCU/chillers).
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Lead site HVAC teams, ensuring installations follow drawings and standards; monitor progress and resolve issues.
  • Prepare progress reports and maintain installation logs and site diaries.

HVAC Construction Manager

Position Overview

The HVAC Construction Manager is responsible for planning, supervising, and managing all onsite HVAC construction activities, ensuring the project is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, standards, and contractual requirements. The role includes leadership of site teams, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
A. Planning & Execution
  • Prepare detailed construction plans, schedules, and manpower deployment strategies for HVAC works.
  • Review IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, and project specifications.
  • Plan and oversee installation activities for:
    • Ducting systems, Chilled water piping, VRV/VRF systems, Mechanical ventilation systems
    • HVAC equipment (AHU, FCU, chillers, pumps, ventilation fans)
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of materials and equipment.
B. Site Supervision & Management
  • Lead, supervise, and manage site HVAC teams (engineers, supervisors, technicians, contractors).
  • Ensure installation works comply with approved drawings, method statements, and standards.
  • Monitor daily progress and resolve site issues proactively.
  • Ensure proper installation of supports, insulation, fire dampers, balancing dampers, etc.
  • Verify measurements and quantities for work completion and billing.
C. Coordination with Stakeholders
  • Attend and lead site coordination meetings with:
    • Civil teams/Electrical teams/Plumbing/Firefighting teams/Consultants
    • Clients
  • Resolve clashes through coordination and using updated drawings.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams for inspections and safety compliance.
D. Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure that HVAC works follow all relevant standards:
    • ASHRAE/SMACNA/ISHRAE
    • Local codes & authority requirements
  • Support QA/QC in conducting inspections and closing NCRs/Defects.
  • Review and approve method statements, ITPs, checklists, and test reports.
E. Testing & Commissioning
  • Manage and supervise:
    • Equipment installation and alignment
    • HVAC system flushing, charging, and functional testing
    • Air & water balancing
  • Coordinate with commissioning teams to ensure system performance requirements are met.
F. Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Maintain installation logs, manpower reports, and site diary.
  • Support in preparation of asbuilt drawings and handingover documentation.
  • Ensure proper closeout of site work, snag rectification, and project commissioning.
