Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations for the manufacturing plant.
  • Handle recruitment and manpower planning for staff, workers and contract employees.
  • Maintain attendance, leave, shift schedules and payroll inputs for accurate payroll processing.
  • Coordinate payroll activities including attendance, overtime, incentives, deductions.

About the Role

Celestix Industries is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to manage day-to-day HR operations at its manufacturing unit in Changodar, Ahmedabad. The role requires strong practical experience in plant HR, employee relations, recruitment, attendance, payroll coordination, statutory compliance and workforce management. The candidate will work closely with shop-floor employees, supervisors, managers, contractors and plant leadership to ensure smooth and disciplined HR operations.

Key Responsibilities
Plant HR Operations

Manage day-to-day HR activities for the manufacturing / plant facility. Maintain employee records, HR documentation and workforce-related information. Ensure HR policies and procedures are implemented consistently across the plant. Support a positive, disciplined and productive shop-floor work environment.

Recruitment & Manpower Planning

Handle manpower planning and recruitment requirements for staff, workers and contract employees. Coordinate onboarding and induction of new employees. Work with department heads to understand manpower requirements and workforce issues. Track recruitment status and support timely closure of open manpower requirements.

Attendance, Leave & Shift Management

Maintain employee attendance, leave records and shift schedules. Monitor absenteeism and attendance trends. Coordinate with relevant departments on attendance-related issues. Maintain accurate attendance inputs required for payroll processing.

Payroll Coordination

Coordinate with payroll teams for: Attendance, Overtime, Incentives, Deductions, Monthly payroll inputs. Ensure payroll-related data is complete and submitted accurately and on time.

Employee Relations & Grievance Handling

Manage employee relations at the plant. Handle employee grievances and workforce concerns. Coordinate with supervisors and managers to resolve employee-related issues. Support disciplinary actions and related documentation.

Disciplinary Processes

Assist with: Warning letters, Show-cause notices, Disciplinary documentation, Other employee-related matters. Ensure disciplinary processes are appropriately documented and aligned with company procedures.

Contract Labour & Contractor Management

Coordinate with labour contractors for contract manpower requirements. Monitor contract labour deployment and attendance. Maintain contractor and worker documentation. Follow up on manpower shortages or deployment-related issues. Support effective contract workforce management at the plant.

Labour Law & Statutory Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements, company policies and HR procedures. Coordinate statutory compliance relating to: PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, Contract Labour, Minimum Wages, Factories Act, Other applicable employment and labour regulations. Maintain required statutory HR records and documentation.

HR Documentation & Audit Support

Maintain HR-related registers, records, reports and supporting documents. Keep documentation ready for audits and inspections. Support internal HR audits. Support customer HR / compliance audits. Support statutory inspections and compliance reviews.

Performance Management

Support performance-management processes across the plant. Coordinate required documentation and employee information. Assist managers and department heads with performance-related HR activities.

Employee Engagement, Training & Development

Support employee-engagement initiatives. Assist with training and development activities. Conduct employee orientation programmes. Coordinate HR meetings and employee-awareness sessions.

Workforce Monitoring

Monitor key workforce indicators including: Absenteeism, Attrition, Attendance, Overtime, Manpower availability, Manpower productivity. Coordinate corrective follow-up with department heads where required.

HR MIS & Reporting

Prepare regular HR MIS reports. Maintain reporting on: Manpower, Attendance, Attrition, Overtime, Recruitment, Other key HR metrics. Ensure HR information is accurate, updated and suitable for management review.

Required Experience

3–5 years of relevant HR experience. Manufacturing or industrial HR experience is preferred. Strong practical exposure to plant HR and employee relations. Experience handling blue-collar workforce and contract labour. Experience in recruitment, workforce management, attendance and payroll coordination. Working understanding of labour laws and statutory compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. MBA / PG Diploma in HR will be an advantage.

Candidate Background

Candidates with prior experience in factory or plant HR will be preferred, particularly those who have independently handled workforce management, contractor coordination, labour compliance, recruitment, payroll inputs and employee relations. The candidate should be comfortable working directly with shop-floor employees as well as supervisors, managers and plant leadership.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have strong practical understanding of manufacturing HR rather than only corporate or office-based HR exposure. The person should be comfortable handling blue-collar and contract manpower, resolving employee issues, maintaining statutory documentation, coordinating payroll inputs and supporting plant management with day-to-day workforce requirements. Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, documentation and problem-solving skills are important for this position. The candidate should also be capable of working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
