Job summary

Exponent Energy in Bengaluru, India, seeks an engineer to conduct homologation activities for CMVR certification and ongoing compliance across battery and charging systems. You will collaborate with engineering, testing and certification partners to define requirements and ensure alignment with product lifecycle needs.

The role requires 2+ years in complex electromechanical integration, CMVR familiarity, and strong documentation skills to support test agencies and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify, document and detail homologation requirements for CMVR components per Exponent needs.
• Coordinate engineering, testing and certification activities for CMVR components and products with internal teams and test agencies.
• Define, monitor and review homologation needs for new products throughout the product life cycle.
• Evaluate ECR/ECNs for homologation impacts and review implementation for CMVR components.
• Provide documentation for systems, testing and engineering to enable CMVR compliance and validation.
• Provide process, documentation and audit requirements to stakeholders for homologation and CMVR compliance.

To conduct and operate homologation activities for certification and sustenance of all Exponent products including battery, charger and all CMVR applicable components..

Job Description

• To identify, document and detail homologation requirements for CMVR components as per Exponent Business needs.
• Coordinate engineering, testing and certification activities for CMVR controlled components and products, internal at Exponent and with test agencies.
• Define, monitor and review homologation needs of the new products throughout the product life cycle.
• Evaluate ECR/ECNs for homologation impacts and review implementation requirements applicable for relevant CMVR type certified components and products.
• Provide necessary documentation for systems, testing and engineering team to enable CMVR requirement capturing, adherence and validation for respective systems, components.
• Provide necessary process, documentation and audit requirements to various stakeholders for homologation and CMVR compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors/Masters in engineering disciplines- Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Metallurgy/ Mechatronics/ Automobile/ Reliability.
• 2+ years of experience in complex electromechanical system integration and evaluation.
• Exposure/ experience of understanding tests, failures and test methods related to homologation and type approval.
• Data analysis and data management
• Documentation, test standards, and AIS/UNECE standards familiarity for CMVR approval.
• Documentation and communication with the test agency.

Knowledge and Skills

• Resilience and speed to work in a dynamic startup environment.
• Handle complexity and break it down to simpler and/or sophisticated test cases.
• Understanding basic electrical/electronic circuits and line diagrams.
• Knowledge of CMVR and non CMVR requirements for various electrical and mechanical systems and their test methods..
• Knowledge of battery and charger.
• Vehicle and Battery homologation as per CMVR.
• Familiarity with automotive/ aerospace/ engineering documentation/ quality management processes.
