Job summary

Eclat Health Solutions is seeking a CDI professional with inpatient experience to clarify and optimize health record documentation. You will work with providers to resolve documentation gaps, explain the impact of medical factors on billing, and drive process improvements across clinical documentation.

The role requires independent work, excellent communication, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and payer regulations, with a focus on staying updated on healthcare reform changes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years inpatient experience.
• Ability to communicate with providers verbally or in writing to clarify documentation.
• Understanding impact of complications, ROM, case mix on billing and documentation.
• Collect and analyze documentation findings to develop action plans for process improvement.
• Collaborate with physicians to monitor KPIs for clinical documentation.
• Facilitate communication among coders and providers to identify documentation opportunities reflecting patient acuity and risk.

Job description

Responsibilities

1. Demonstrate clinical expertise with a minimum of 2+ years of inpatient experience.
2. Communicate with providersverbally or in writing (e.g., formal queries)—to clarify missing, unclear, or conflicting health record documentation, ensuring timely follow-up.
3. Understand and explain the impact of complications, comorbidities, SOI, risk of mortality (ROM), case mix, and procedures on billing and documentation.
4. Collect and analyze documentation findings and outcomes to develop action plans for process improvement. Prepare internal monitoring reports and compile data for reporting.
5. Collaborate with physicians and clinic leadership to develop and monitor key performance indicators for clinical documentation. Provide report explanations to clinical staff as needed.
6. Facilitate communication among coders and providers to identify documentation opportunities that accurately reflect patient acuity and risk.
