Position: Head Teacher

Location: Pune, Maharashtra Type: Full-time, On-site

Role Overview

This role holds the responsibility of leading a dynamic classroom where inquiry, empathy, and excellence thrive. With deep knowledge of early childhood pedagogy and an unwavering commitment to child-centred practices, the Head Teacher ensures that every day becomes a meaningful step in a childs lifelong learning journey.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Implementation & Classroom Leadership Design and deliver engaging, brain-responsive, and developmentally aligned lesson plans, tailored to individual child needs and interests.

Create a classroom culture that reflects joyful learning, purposeful exploration, and values-centred teaching.

Embed inquiry-based learning, storytelling, and multisensory strategies into daily routines.

Integrate opportunities for creative expression, movement, language, numeracy, and socio-emotional growth.

Team Mentorship & Collaboration Lead and guide assistant teachers and caregivers through regular planning, modeling, and feedback.

Foster a culture of reflection, open communication, and shared ownership within the classroom team.

Observation, Assessment & Documentation Conduct ongoing observations, formative assessments, and learning documentation.

Maintain child portfolios that highlight progress across developmental domains.

Prepare progress reports and lead goal-setting conversations with families.

Family Engagement & Partnership Build strong, trusting relationships with parents through regular communication, PTMs, and learning showcases.

Collaborate with families to co-create strategies that support holistic child development at home and school.

Environment & Safety Stewardship Ensure the classroom is an aesthetically pleasing, safe, and inclusive space that aligns with our design ethos.

Uphold all health, hygiene, and safeguarding protocols with consistency and care.

Professional Learning & Advocacy Actively participate in training sessions, curriculum reviews, and learning communities.

Represent in school tours, open houses, and public forums with professionalism and warmth.

Required Qualifications & Educational Background

1. Bachelors degree (minimum) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field.

2. Diploma/Postgraduate Certificate in Montessori, NTT, ECCE, or Waldorf/Regio-inspired methodologies is preferred.

3. 7+ years of lead teaching experience in a high-quality preschool or early years environment.

4. Proven experience in curriculum execution, classroom leadership, and family engagement.
