Job summary

Intellectual Capital HR Consulting Pvt. Ltd. seeks a Head Trader for its Mumbai-based proprietary trading desk. The role requires 5–10 years of experience in high‑frequency or algorithmic trading, with deep knowledge of exchange connectivity, order systems, and co‑located infrastructure.

You will lead a multi‑trategy team, design low-latency execution systems, and oversee risk metrics while driving the desk's P&L and strategic roadmap. This is a performance-based opportunity based in Mumbai.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 to 10 years in proprietary, institutional, or high-frequency trading.
• Deep understanding of exchange connectivity, order management systems, and co-located infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or R for data-driven analytics and strategy testing.
• Experience leading a multi-trategy trading desk and managing risk metrics (VaR, Sharpe, drawdown).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the high-frequency trading desk, driving performance, technology, and strategy development.
• Design, implement, and optimize algorithmic and low-latency execution systems.
• Supervise multiple traders and quants, overseeing capital allocation, margin usage, and real-time risk controls.
• Monitor latency, order routing, and exchange connectivity (NSE/BSE co-location).
• Ensure compliance with SEBI regulations, sub-broker licensing, and firm governance.
• Evaluate strategies using market microstructure and tick-level data analytics.
• Oversee risk metrics and ensure discipline and accountability.
• Collaborate with R&D and infra teams to integrate data feeds and execution engines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the high-frequency trading desk, driving performance, technology, and strategy development.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 to 10 years of proven experience in high-frequency or algorithmic proprietary trading.
• Deep understanding of exchange connectivity, order management systems, and co-located infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Greek Algo, pair/ratio trading, and execution algorithms (VWAP, TWAP, POV, etc.).
• Strong command of risk management frameworks - margin allocation, exposure limits, capital efficiency, and performance metrics.
• Familiarity with Python, C++, or R for data-driven analytics and strategy testing preferred.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and business acumen, with the ability to build and mentor a multi-strategy team.
• Based in Mumbai.
