Igloo is expanding its product engine and establishing a dedicated Tech Solutions hub in Pune. We are seeking a hands-on Lead Solutions Architect & Site Lead to drive platform architecture, guide system design, and manage a multidisciplinary engineering organization in India.

The role balances deep technical ownership with people leadership across Engineering, QA, DevOps/SRE, and Integration teams to keep our insurance and direct-to-consumer platform scalable, secure, and resilient.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software engineering, solution architecture, and technical management.
• Hands-on experience with integration-heavy web platforms and distributed microservices.
• Proficiency in Go, Python Django, Vue.js, REST APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong leadership of multi-functional engineering teams across global sites.

Responsibilities

• Architect, govern high-availability microservices-based platform solutions for global D2C and partners.
• Lead Pune hub strategy, capacity planning, and operating rhythm across engineering teams.
• Review architecture, conduct design/code reviews, and enforce security and release controls.
• Drive CI/CD, observability, incident response, and cloud environments with DevOps/SRE and QA teams.
• Collaborate with global product, architecture, and business teams to align roadmaps.

About the Role

Igloo is expanding its product engine and establishing a dedicated Tech Solutions hub in Pune. We are looking for a hands-on Lead Solutions Architect & Site Lead to drive platform architecture, govern technical design, and manage our multidisciplinary engineering organization in India.

In this dual-impact role, you will balance deep technical ownership—reviewing architecture, guiding system design, and auditing code with people leadership across Engineering, QA, DevOps/SRE, and Integration teams. You will ensure our high-throughput insurance and direct-to-consumer platform remains scalable, secure, and resilient.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & System Design

• Architect, design, and govern high-availability, microservices-based platform solutions for global direct-to-consumer and partner-facing lines of business.
• Conduct architecture, design, and code reviews; establish quality benchmarks, security controls, and robust release mechanisms.
• Stay hands-on with system design and technical troubleshooting, guiding engineers through complex algorithmic and infrastructural challenges.

Team & Site Leadership

• Lead overall strategy, capacity planning, and operating rhythm for the Pune technology hub.
• Recruit, mentor and scale multidisciplinary teams across backend, frontend, QA, DevOps/SRE, and platform integration.
• Drive engineering culture, career pathing, succession planning, and retention initiatives across the India site.

Product Delivery & Operations

• Partner with global product, architecture, and business teams (UAE, India, China) to align platform roadmap with technical execution.
• Collaborate with DevOps/SRE and QA to optimize CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, observability and incident response SLAs.
• Leverage AI productivity tools responsibly for code synthesis, testing, documentation and technical analysis.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 15+ years in software engineering, solution architecture, and technical management within product-native environments.
• Technical Depth: Hands‑on experience designing, building, and operating integration‑heavy web platforms and distributed microservices.
• Tech Stack: Proficiency in Go (Golang), Python (Django), Vue.js, REST APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) and database design.
• People Leadership: Proven track record of hiring, growing and leading multi‑functional engineering teams (Dev, QA, DevOps).
• Operational Mastery: Solid background in site reliability engineering (SRE), production incident management, security compliance and continuous delivery.
• Global Collaboration: Outstanding communication skills with experience operating across international cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Experience

• Direct background in InsurTech, FinTech, e‑commerce or high-volume transactional platforms.
• Hands‑on implementation of AI‑assisted software development workflows.
