Responsibilities

• Interface with various departments on financial, marketing and branding matters.
• Develop plans for venues, stadium bookings, broadcast, and branding for events.
• Interact with the Player Status department for registration of players.
• Develop and administer National Football Championships for men and women.
• Obtain AIFF ExCo approvals for domestic and international tournaments.
• Work with referees department on competition-related matters.

Overview

All India Football Federation (AIFF), the national governing body for football, is currently seeking a full time Head of Competitions for immediate joining. Location: New Delhi. Contract type: contract. Date: 11-11-2022 to 21-11-2022. Reports to: Secretary General.

Responsibilities

• Overall planning and operations of the Competitions.
• Management and delivery of all AIFF-organized competitions, including scheduling tournaments, preparation of competition regulations, and player and team registrations.
• Collaborate with Member Associations to deliver Preliminary Rounds and Final Rounds where applicable.
• Plan and conduct draws and issue fixtures for tournaments.
• Prepare and obtain approval of budgets for all AIFF-conducted tournaments.
• Liaise with Deputy Secretary General and Director of Finance & Accounts regarding financial approvals, subsidies and other financial matters.
• Coordinate with Marketing & Sponsorship Services Managers to oversee match delivery, considering broadcaster and club needs.
• Develop an operational plan for venues and technical matters such as stadium/ground bookings, broadcast, marketing and branding plans with related departments.
• Interact with the Player Status department for registration of players.
• Develop and administer National Football Championships for men and women.
• Prepare and obtain approval from AIFF ExCo of the football calendar, aligning with domestic competitions and FIFA windows.
• Obtain AIFF ExCo approvals for domestic and international tournaments.
• Develop close associations with Member Associations and clubs.
• Work with the Referees department on competition-related matters including match officials.
• Provide reports and information to the Secretary General on participation in specific programs.
• Stay informed on best practices in Competitions per FIFA/AFC.
• Serve as the main contact point for all competitions and national competition matters and international matches for AIFF.
• Interface as needed with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), FIFA and Member Federations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Age below 50 years.
• Work experience of 7–9 years in organizing competitions.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly written and presentation.
• Must have handled Competitions independently.
• Knowledge of Football Administration systems.
• Strong ability to go into details of match organization.
• Experience in tournament delivery and understanding of what is required to run a professional football tournament.
• Understanding of core principles of Football Development.
• Basic IT knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office.
• Awareness of strategic goals of AIFF.
• Ability to lead and motivate the department.
• Willingness to work 24x7 as needed.
