Job summary

West Avenue Realty in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting, bank reconciliations, and project accounting for real estate operations.

The role requires hands-on GST and TDS compliance, Tally Prime proficiency, strong MS Excel skills, and the ability to coordinate audits and financial reporting with auditors, banks, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience with mandatory real estate industry exposure.
• Strong knowledge of GST and TDS compliance.
• Proficient in Tally Prime and MS Excel.
• Understanding of real estate transactions, including RERA accounting.
• Experience in reconciliations, financial reporting and audit coordination.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, able to manage accounting operations independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, bookkeeping, journal entries and bank reconciliations.
• Manage GST and TDS compliance, including filings, payments and reconciliations.
• Handle project-wise accounting: sales, purchases, expenses, receivables and payables.
• Monitor customer receipts, advances, brokerage, commissions and property-related transactions.
• Verify and process vendor, contractor and broker invoices and payments.
• Ensure accurate entries in Tally Prime and maintain financial records.
• Manage cash flow tracking, ledger scrutiny and account reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly and annual financial statements, finalization and audits.
• Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks and internal departments.
• Ensure timely statutory compliance and accurate financial reporting.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of relevant accounting experience, with mandatory experience in the real estate industry.
• Prior experience with a real estate developer or construction company will be strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, Tally Prime and MS Excel.
• Understanding of real estate transactions, RERA-related accounting and project accounting.
• Experience in handling reconciliations, financial reporting and audit coordination.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to independently manage accounting operations.
