Job summary

Lyrus Life Science is seeking a senior formulation development lead to oversee the creation of solids, liquids, and semisolids across OTC, nutraceuticals, and Ayurvedic products. The role involves leading the R&D and Production teams, guiding literature reviews, reference product characterization, and lab trials to optimize formulas and processes.

Responsibilities

• 1. Primarily responsible for the development of various dosage forms (Solids / Liquids / Semisolids in OTC/Nutraceuticals / Ayurvedic formulations) and leading FR&D and Production department.
• 2. Responsible for guiding the team for following activities:Literature search, reference product finalization and characterization.
• 3. Developmental lab trials to optimize formula and process.
• 4. Technical information and documentation for applying License (FSSAI & AYUSH).
• 5. API source finalization with the help of other supporting departments like purchase, QA, AD, Customer etc.
• 6. To provide expert opinion for Formulation development team in developing the proto type formulation of various dosage forms.
• 7. Interact with Production team on daily basis to provide expert opinion in overcoming technical challenges during batch manufacturing of various dosage forms.
• 8. To update the assigned project status to internal and external customer(s) and to meet the milestones as per the mutually agreed timeline.
• 9. To ensure the various activities required for the Nutraceuticals / Ayurvedic formulations pertaining to intellectual property rights and clinical supports.
• 10. Assist in developing a patentable composition for Novel drug delivery systems.
• 11. Project allocation to the team and ensure the availability of resources to conduct trials and manufacturing batches.
• 12. Annual budget preparation and capex raising for equipment/instruments.
• 13. Provide technical support to the team and supportive departments for regulatory deficiencies.
• 14. Nominating subordinates to in house and external technical seminars and trainings.
• 15. Coordination with cross functional teams and customers in execution of validation / submission batches.
• 16. Ensuring the safety aspects related to Formulation Development and Production activities.
• 17. Finalizing the source of API/excipients in coordination with supportive departments and customers.
• 18. Coordination with Purchase department in the procurement of raw materials & packing materials.
• 19. Review and Approval of Technology Transfer documents (Specs, STP, Protocols, MFR etc) and Product Development Report.
