Rempact is seeking a tech-savvy Head Accountant in Gurgaon to lead the core accounting team and partner with the CFO to drive automation across financial processes. The role oversees GST, TDS, statutory compliances, vendor ledgers, and monthly closures with a focus on zero-friction reporting and strong internal controls.

Startup experience is highly appreciated. Ideal candidates will have 15+ years in core accounting, with at least 5 years in senior leadership, and hands-on experience with SAP,

Qualifications

• CA/ICWA/Cost Accountant with elite grasp of corporate bookkeeping and compliance.
• 15+ years in core accounting, with at least 5 years commanding teams at a Senior Head level.
• Startup experience in high-growth setups and automation of processes.
• Deep familiarity with GST, TDS, and ICAI accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Process Automation
• Team Governance: lead, mentor and elevate daily output of the accounting team.
• CFO Automation Alignment: work with CFO to automate all financial pipelines.
• Rapid Closures: manage general ledgers for automated monthly book closures by Day 3.
• Audit Management: lead statutory, internal, and tax audits with clean reports.
• Cross-Functional Liaison: coordinate with business and sales teams on financial processes.
• Vendor Payments: control vendor ledgers, reconciliations, and payments workflow.
• Asset & Inventory Controls: oversee fixed assets, inventory, and ledger matches.
• Airtight Taxation: ensure GST and ITC accuracy and filings.
• Statutory Adherence: comply with ICAI standards and direct/indirect tax codes.
• Risk Elimination: implement internal controls to spot and fix discrepancies.

Role Overview

Our Client needs a tech-savvy Head Accountant to step into a vital leadership role managing the core team and driving day-to-day coordination with business units. Working directly with the CFO, you will own all aspects of corporate accounting, vendor ledgers, payments, and heavy compliance (GST, TDS, statutory) with a relentless mandate to completely automate the ecosystem. Startup experience is highly appreciable.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Process Automation
• Team Governance: Provide strong leadership to manage, mentor, and elevate the daily output of the accounting team.
• CFO Automation Alignment: Partner directly with the CFO to design and execute complete automation across all financial pipelines.
• Rapid Closures: Maintain absolute control over general ledgers to deliver precise, automated monthly book closures by Day 3.
• Audit Management: Lead end-to-end management of statutory, internal, and tax audits to guarantee clean, zero-friction reports.
• Business Coordination & Operational Control
• Cross-Functional Liaison: Drive daily coordination with business and sales teams to enforce guidelines and financial process discipline.
• Vendor Payments: Establish absolute control over vendor ledgers, complex reconciliations, and the entire outward payment workflow.
• Asset & Inventory Controls: Oversee fixed asset registers, inventory tracking, and ledger matches alongside the finance team.
• Airtight Statutory Compliance & Taxation
• Core Tax Accountability: Own the absolute accuracy of computations, input tax credit (ITC) matches, and timely filings for GST and TDS.
• Statutory Adherence: Guarantee zero-compromise compliance with ICAI accounting standards, corporate laws, and direct/indirect tax codes.
• Risk Elimination: Enforce ironclad internal financial controls to instantly spot and eliminate ledger discrepancies or cost leakages.

Required Candidate Profile

• Core Credentials: Qualified CA, ICWA, or Cost Accountant with an elite grasp of corporate bookkeeping and compliance.
• Leadership Stature: 15+ years in core accounting, with at least 5 years commanding teams at a Senior Head level.
• Startup Agility: Appreciable track record of navigating high-growth startup setups and transforming chaos into automated structure.
• Tech-Savvy Mindset: Deep practical passion for modern ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Tally Prime) and automated workflow integrations.
• Direct Communication: Sharp, articulate communicator who collaborates smoothly with business units yet stands uncompromising on data accuracy.
