Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Hardware Simulation Engineer in Chennai to tackle complex simulations for circuits, antennas, and EMI/EMC with CST/HFSS/FEKO tools. You will model, simulate, and optimize board-level designs for EV transmissions while collaborating with customers and global teams.

The role demands extensive experience in electromagnetic and signal integrity domains, along with a strong grasp of CISPR standards and CAD-aware workflows, enabling tangible design improvements.

Qualifications

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical or Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a reputed institute
• 8–10 years of experience in engineering simulations
• Experience with automotive or EV transmission systems is a plus

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and leadership to scope and execute projects
• Model circuit/wire routing and test bench setups per CISPR
• Perform radiated/conducted emission, immunity and coupling simulations
• Perform board-level SI/PI & EMI/EMC simulations using ANSYS/CST tools
• Conduct structural and electrical simulations for EV transmission systems
• Provide design improvement recommendations to experts for approval
• Mesh and simulate stiffness, strength, and durability of components under loads
• Deliver timely, high-quality simulations and actionable recommendations to stakeholders
