Install, configure, and maintain EDA tool suites from major vendors (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor/Siemens, Ansys).
Administer license servers (FlexLM/FlexNet) and monitor usage to ensure compliance and optimize license availability for global teams.
Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for hardware engineers, resolving issues related to tool crashes, tool installation issues, and environment configurations.
Develop and maintain scripts (Python, Tcl, Perl, or Bash) to automate repetitive tasks, integrate different tools into a unified design flow, and improve productivity.
Work closely with IT and CAD teams to optimize tool performance on Linux-based compute clusters and manage large-scale data storage requirements.
Open and track technical support cases with EDA vendors, advocating for bug fixes and feature enhancements required by our design teams.
Create and maintain "How-To" guides, environment setup procedures, and best practice documentation for the engineering community.
3-6 years of experience in EDA tool support or a CAD/CAE engineering environment.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
Experience managing FlexLM or similar license management software.
Proficiency in using AI tools in day-to-day work, including scripting, communicatrion, and debugging.
Solid understanding of one or more scripting languages - Perl, Python, TCL, bash, etc.
Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) workload managers like LSF (Load Sharing Facility), Slurm or Grid Engine.
Familiarity with revision control systems such as Git, Perforce, or CVS.
Windows experience: Some Microsoft Windows administration experience would be a plus.
Analytical Thinking: Strong diagnostic skills to identify root causes in complex software environments.
Customer Focus: A service-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate technical solutions to non-IT staff.
Adaptability: Ability to stay current with rapidly evolving EDA technologies and methodologies.
