Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Bengaluru seeks a Hardware Designer (DST) with 5–8 years of experience in design and drafting. The role requires BE in Mechanical/Production/Automobile/Industrial engineering and strong CAD/PLM skills including Creo/Nx and Teamcenter.

You will create CAD assemblies, BOMs, and drawings for sheetmetal, machined parts, and welded structures, while implementing changes and collaborating with product teams.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical/Production/Automobile/Industrial engineering with 5 to 8 years of relevant exp in design & drafting.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modelling & assembly management using Creo or Nx & Teamcenter.
• Experience in BoM management using PLM softwares and SAP.
• Knowledge of engineering/methods & processes; fabrication methods (Sheetmetal & Machining).

Responsibilities

• Recommend engineering solutions for simple to medium complex “Problem reports.”
• Create CAD assemblies & BOM for design changes / modifications.
• Implement multiple engineering changes through Change orders.
• Collaborate with product development engineers on concept design and changes.
• Create/review drawings for sheetmetal, machined parts, welded structures & complex assemblies.
• Create assembly/test procedures and rework instructions.

Educational qualification

BE in Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Industrial engineering with 5 to 8 Yrs of relevant Exp in Design & Drafting

Primary Responsibilities

• Recommend engineering solutions for simple to medium complex “Problem reports”
• Create CAD assemblies & BOM for design changes / modifications
• Work on implementing multiple engineering changes through Change orders
• Collaborate with product development engineers in implementing concept design and simple design changes
• Create/review drawings for complex sheetmetal & machined parts, welded structures & complex assemblies.
• Create assembly/test procedures, rework instructions etc..

Mandatory Skills Required to Perform the Job

• Proficient in 3D CAD modelling & assembly management using Creo or Nx & Team center
• Proficient in BoM management using PLM softwares
• Knowledge in Engineering Change Management Process, SAP, PLM etc..
• Good knowledge of engineering/design methods & processes
• Experience in various fabrication methods (Sheetmetal & Machining)
• Knowledge in Mechanical hardware (fasteners) and OEM components selection

Desirable Skills

• Able to present simple design concepts to peers and management in a professional and effective way
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge on MS office softwares like MS Excel, MS Word & MS PowerPoint
• Exposure to Auto CAD, GD&T
