Job summary

Capco invites applications for a Hadoop Admin role based in Bengaluru. The candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Hadoop ecosystem components, ensuring secure access and high availability of the data platform.

You will monitor performance, plan upgrades, and work with data engineers on pipeline operations. We seek at least 5 years of hands-on experience with Hadoop, HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase, Spark, Oozie and Zookeeper, plus familiarity with Sqoop, Flume, Kafka,

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in installing, configuring, and maintaining Hadoop ecosystem components.
• Ability to monitor cluster performance and troubleshoot proactively.
• Experience with upgrades, patches, and security updates with minimal downtime.
• Experience with Kerberos-based security, Ranger or Sentry for authorization.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase, Spark, Oozie, Zookeeper).
• Monitor cluster performance and capacity; troubleshoot issues.
• Manage upgrades, patches, and security updates with minimal downtime.
• Implement data security, authorization, and authentication (Kerberos, Ranger, Sentry).
• Automate monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams on data pipelines.
• Develop runbooks and SOPs for operations.
• Support integration with Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, Airflow, etc.

Job Description

• Strong expertise in Install, configure, and maintain Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase, Spark, Oozie, Zookeeper, etc.).
• Monitor cluster performance and capacity; troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively.
• Manage cluster upgrades, patching, and security updates with minimal downtime.
• Implement and maintain data security, authorization, and authentication (Kerberos, Ranger, or Sentry).
• Configure and manage Hadoop high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies.
• Automate cluster monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure smooth data pipeline operations.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring system issues and implement permanent fixes.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including runbooks and SOPs.
• Support integration with third-party tools (Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, Airflow, etc.).
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident management for production support.
