Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Group Pricing Head in Mumbai to lead pricing for large Group Insurance opportunities. You will monitor profitability, advise senior management, and drive pricing strategy across portfolios while ensuring governance and compliance.

Lead, mentor, and develop the pricing team, collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, sales, and operations, and drive automation and process improvements in Group Pricing.

Qualifications

• 7–9 years in actuarial pricing, insurance analytics, or Group Insurance pricing.
• Strong experience in pricing analysis, portfolio management, and stakeholder management.
• Minimum 10 actuarial papers cleared from IAI or IFoA.

Job Description

• Review and approve pricing quotations for large and complex Group Insurance opportunities, ensuring profitable growth while balancing market competitiveness and risk considerations.
• Monitor portfolio profitability, renewal experience, and pricing performance, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Analyze portfolio trends and provide actionable pricing insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Manage reinsurance support activities, including treaty coordination, negotiations, and pricing of special or non-standard business opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations, actuarial standards, and internal governance requirements.
• Drive automation initiatives, process enhancements, and operational efficiencies within the Group Pricing function.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the pricing team, fostering technical excellence and high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across actuarial, underwriting, sales, and operations teams.
• Support Group Product Development, strategic business initiatives, and annual business planning activities.
• Contribute to the overall growth and profitability strategy of the Group Insurance business.

The Successful Applicant

• 7-9 years of relevant experience in actuarial pricing, insurance analytics, or Group Insurance pricing.
• Strong experience in actuarial/pricing analysis, portfolio management, and stakeholder management.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with business leaders and provide commercially viable pricing solutions.
• Minimum 10 actuarial papers cleared from IAI (Institute of Actuaries of India) or IFoA (Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in Group Life, Group Credit Life, or Group Health pricing will be preferred.
• Proficiency in actuarial modeling, pricing tools, and data analytics platforms is desirable.

• Leadership and people management skills.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder influencing abilities.
• Attention to detail with a focus on governance and compliance.
• Ability to drive innovation, automation, and continuous process improvement.
