Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a security-focused professional to monitor and respond to cybersecurity events. The role involves triaging incidents, coordinating with the SOC, and maintaining documentation of findings and remediation efforts.

You will use Cybrary and Microsoft Courses to strengthen investigation knowledge, stay current with trends, and help implement remediation measures across the business. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies
• Systematic, organised, and careful approach to investigations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for triaging and analysing security incidents
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail
• Self-motivated with personal training and development goals
• Relevant higher education studies in Technology, Cyber, Programming, AI, or related fields are desirable
• Understanding of networks, applications, and security controls is desirable
• Security or technical certifications are desirable
• Studying security as part of an established course is desirable

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor security events using various tools and technologies
• Collaborate with SOC team members and other departments on incident management and resolution
• Use Cybrary and Microsoft Courses to strengthen investigation knowledge
• Perform initial triage of security events and capture relevant incident information
• Escalate security incidents according to established procedures
• Analyse and respond to security incidents, including root cause and impact assessment
• Monitor attack surface tools for security weaknesses
• Research best practices and work with business areas to remediate issues
• Maintain issue trackers and document findings, actions, and remediation efforts
• Suggest and implement remediation measures for vulnerabilities and incidents
• Identify alert improvements and record them on an engineering register
• Stay current with emerging cybersecurity trends and technologies
