Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Graduate Consultant in Geoenvironmental and Geotechnical disciplines for its UK Operations team. The role focuses on environmental site assessment, ground investigation data, geotechnical interpretation and multidisciplinary project delivery across transportation, energy, water, real estate and more.

You will work with experienced consultants to deliver technical outputs, develop GIS/CAD skills, and support reports while joining a collaborative, flexible and globally

Qualifications

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydrogeology or related discipline.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and willingness to work with large datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment reports and ground investigation summaries.
  • Collate, review and tabulate environmental, geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical data.
  • Prepare figures, drawings and basic spatial outputs using GIS/CAD tools when required.
  • Contribute to report writing, data interpretation and project documentation.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality technical outputs for clients.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is keen to develop technical consulting skills across environmental site assessment, ground investigation data, geotechnical interpretation, reporting, GIS/CAD and multidisciplinary project delivery.You will support projects across sectors such as transportation, energy, water resources, real estate, industrial, manufacturing and technology, working with experienced consultants, engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality technical outputs for clients in the UK and other global markets.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment reports, ground investigation summaries and technical deliverables.Collate, review and tabulate environmental, geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical data.Support the processing and presentation of intrusive site investigation records, including borehole logs, laboratory data and field observations.Prepare figures, drawings, plans and basic spatial outputs using GIS/CAD tools, where required.Contribute to report writing, data interpretation, technical notes, schedules, charts and project documentation.Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including environmental consultants, geotechnical engineers, planners, designers and project managers.Help maintain project records, data management systems, task trackers and quality documentation.Deliver assigned tasks on time, within budget and in accordance with Arcadis quality, health, safety and business management requirements.About YouA degree or postgraduate qualification in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydrogeology or a related discipline.Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and willingness to work with large datasets.Basic understanding of environmental site assessment, ground investigation techniques, soil and groundwater data, or geotechnical principles.Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and an interest in data management, GIS, CAD, Power BI or digital tools would be advantageous.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage tasks to agreed deadlines.Curiosity, enthusiasm and a proactive approach to learning from senior colleagues and project teams.What We OfferMeaningful work on projects that help improve quality of life and support sustainable outcomes for communities.Opportunities to work with global teams and gain exposure to international environmental and infrastructure projects.Structured learning, mentoring and development to help you build a rewarding consulting career.A collaborative, inclusive and supportive culture where every contribution matters.Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, subject to project and business requirements.Exposure to digital tools, data-led approaches and multidisciplinary project delivery.Why Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
