Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Bengaluru seeks a Global Capability Owner (GCO) – Global Archetype Controlling to lead end-to-end controlling delivery, governance, and transformation globally. You will standardize processes, drive efficiency, and partner with business units to enable strategic finance initiatives.

You will manage a distributed team across hubs, shape the operating model, and collaborate with SAP Center of Excellence to advance digital finance capabilities and business partnering globally.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Factory Controlling, Controlling Operations, or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience working in global and matrixed organizations and driving standardization.

Responsibilities

  • Define, govern, and evolve the global archetype controlling model with harmonization and alignment across regions and units.
  • Lead delivery of controlling services across global Controlling Capability Centers with service excellence and capacity management.
  • Establish standardized processes, service catalogues, and ownership models to improve efficiency and transparency.
  • Act as primary interface between Capability Centers, Business Units, Regions, BU CFOs, Hub Controllers, Local Controllers, and stakeholders for strong business partnering.
  • Define and monitor KPIs, ensuring transparency of performance and value creation with continuous improvement actions.
  • Lead transformation, automation, digitalization, and analytics initiatives, including SAP Center of Excellence collaboration.
  • Drive global controlling projects and cross-functional initiatives to support business objectives and scalable operating models.
  • Build and develop high-performing global teams across multiple hubs with accountability and knowledge sharing.
  • Strengthen resilience through onboarding, training, succession planning, and cross-capability collaboration.

The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Global Capability Owner (GCO) – Global Archetype Controlling to lead the end-to-end delivery, governance, and transformation of controlling activities across countries, business units, and Controlling Capability Centers globally. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring consistent execution, high-quality service delivery, and alignment with global finance standards while driving standardization, scalability, and continuous improvement across the controlling organization.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring consistent execution, high-quality service delivery, and alignment with global finance standards while driving standardization, scalability, and continuous improvement across the controlling organization.



You will lead a globally distributed team across capability hubs in Bangalore, San Luis Potosí, Xiamen, and Krakow, with Archetype Leads reporting directly into the role. As a key partner to Business Units, Regions, and CP&O, you will help shape the future operating model through process harmonization, digital transformation, and enhanced business partnering capabilities.



How You'll Make An Impact


  • Define, govern, and continuously evolve the global archetype controlling model, driving harmonization, standardization, and alignment with business and finance strategies across regions and business units.

  • Lead the delivery of controlling services across global Controlling Capability Centers, ensuring consistent execution, service excellence, adherence to standards, and effective demand and capacity management.

  • Establish and maintain standardized controlling processes, service catalogues, and clear ownership models while optimizing activities to improve efficiency, scalability, and transparency.

  • Act as the primary interface between Capability Centers, Business Units, Regions, BU CFOs, Hub Controllers, Local Controllers, and other stakeholders, enabling strong business partnering and effective decision support.

  • Define and monitor KPIs, ensuring transparency in operational performance, resource utilization, service quality, and value creation while driving corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Lead transformation, automation, digitalization, and advanced analytics initiatives, including close collaboration with SAP Center of Excellence teams to enhance process effectiveness and operational excellence.

  • Drive global controlling projects and cross-functional initiatives that support business objectives, finance transformation, and the development of scalable operating models.

  • Build and develop high-performing global teams across multiple hubs, fostering collaboration, capability development, knowledge sharing, customer focus, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Strengthen organizational resilience through effective onboarding, training, succession planning, backup structures, and cross-capability collaboration within CP&O to maximize synergies and service excellence.



Your Background


  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Factory Controlling, Controlling Operations, or related disciplines.

  • Proven experience working in global and matrixed organizations.

  • Demonstrated success in process standardization, transformation, shared services, or global service delivery leadership.

  • Strong expertise in controlling processes, finance operating models, and governance frameworks.

  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Experience with SAP and digital finance technologies.

  • Proven ability to lead global, cross-functional initiatives and drive organizational change.

  • Strong intercultural awareness with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and geographies.

  • Demonstrates effective use of AI and digital tools to enhance problem-solving, decision-making, and productivity, while applying sound judgment, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and maintaining accountability for outcomes.

  • Fluent written and spoken English.
