Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a detail-oriented GL Accountant to drive financial accounting quality in a fast-growing environment. You will execute critical JEs, reconcilations, and close activities while maintaining strong internal controls across global entities in SAP ERP and Blackline.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in the Global Finance organization, support audits, and contribute to process improvements and timely financial reporting in US GAAP.

Qualifications

  • CA or CPA qualified with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in GL/RTR functions within a large US multinational corporation.
  • Sound knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial analysis and presentation.
  • Highly detail‑oriented with a proven ability to process transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries with appropriate documentation, uploading them into SAP ERP for global legal entities.
  • Execute account reconciliations in Blackline, ensuring high accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Assist and actively participate in the monthly financial close process and all related accounting activities.
  • Identify and execute process improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce financial risk.
  • Support the corporate accounting team by preparing audit schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate effectively with external auditors to provide requested documentation and explanations for assigned areas.
  • Prepare financial analytics to assist controllers with monthly flux analysis and close‑related reviews.
  • Communicate seamlessly with cross‑functional teams across different regions to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Assist in any additional and ad‑hoc accounting activities required by the Record‑to‑Report (R2R) team.

Key Responsibilities
