Job summary

Hitachi Energy Technology Services Private Limited in Chennai seeks an experienced Installation and Commissioning Engineer for GIS products from 66kV to 500kV. You will be part of the PGHV – CH 2657 team and provide technical guidance during installation and commissioning on client sites.

The role requires coordinating with project managers, ensuring site readiness, managing travel and safety compliance, and delivering clear progress and SAT reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years' experience in GIS installation and commissioning.
• Completed at least 10 GIS installation projects in an independent role.
• Skilled in coordinating with contractors / technicians.
• Good knowledge of site HSE requirements.
• Ability to summarize meeting outcomes.
• English fluent in speaking and writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project manager and ensure site readiness.
• Obtain travel approvals and visas for project country.
• Conduct site risk assessment and mitigation.
• Unpack GIS materials, inspect and move to installation site.
• Lead toolbox talks before work starts.
• Ensure GIS installation and commissioning by technicians per method statements.
• Prepare weekly progress reports for the project manager.
• Conduct SAT and report nonconformities per protocol.
• Prepare as-built drawings and handover equipment with documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
