Job summary

Duranta Infotech Private Limited is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with hydropower experience to join our team in India. You will analyze rock mechanics, assess stability, and design support systems for dams, tunnels and caverns.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering and 3–6 years of hydropower geotechnical experience. Proficiency in PLAXIS is essential, along with strong report-writing and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
• 3–6 years of hydropower geotechnical experience.
• Strong knowledge of soil/rock mechanics and slope stability.
• Familiarity with PLAXIS is required.
• Ability to interpret geotechnical investigation reports.

Responsibilities

• Analyse rock mechanics to ensure the stability of dams, pressure shafts, and large underground caverns.
• Designing support systems (rock bolts, shotcrete etc) for headrace tunnels, tailrace tunnels, and underground caverns.
• Assess hazards such as landslides, seismic activity, and slope instability, designing stabilization and grouting measures
• Monitoring slope stability and deep excavations for powerhouses to prevent failures
• Use of specialized geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS etc) to model foundations and earthworks.
• Prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and align all designs with relevant codes
