Job summary

Qualifications

• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, GEO5, SAFE.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical design activities for buildings, infrastructure, and major projects.
• Review soil investigation reports and geotechnical data.
• Design and review shallow, deep, raft, pile foundations, and retaining structures.
• Perform bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability analyses.
• Provide design solutions for ground improvement, shoring, and dewatering.

• Ensure compliance with IS, IRC, Eurocodes, and project specs.
• Coordinate with structural, civil, site, and project teams.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Design professional with 17+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, foundation design, soil investigation, and ground improvement for major construction and infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for leading geotechnical design activities, reviewing technical reports, providing engineering solutions, and coordinating with structural, civil, and project execution teams to ensure safe, economical, and technically sound designs.

Key Responsibilities

Lead geotechnical design activities for buildings, industrial structures, bridges, roads, infrastructure, and other major construction projects.

Review soil investigation reports, geotechnical data, and laboratory and field test results.

Design and review shallow foundations, deep foundations, pile foundations, raft foundations, and retaining structures.

Perform bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, and soil–structure interaction assessments.

Provide design solutions for ground improvement, excavation support systems, shoring, and dewatering.

Review geotechnical calculations, design reports, technical specifications, and drawings.

Ensure designs comply with applicable IS Codes, IRC standards, Eurocodes, and other relevant project specifications.

Coordinate with structural design, civil engineering, site execution, and project management teams.

Provide technical guidance to design engineers and review the work of junior team members.

Evaluate site-specific geotechnical challenges and recommend suitable engineering solutions.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and specialist subcontractors on technical matters.

Support construction teams in resolving foundation-related design issues and site discrepancies.

Monitor design quality, project timelines, cost efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required Skills and Competencies

Strong expertise in geotechnical engineering and foundation design.

Experience in major construction, industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, GEO5, SAFE, or equivalent tools.

Knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, foundation engineering, and ground improvement techniques.

Ability to interpret geotechnical investigation reports and recommend appropriate foundation systems.

Strong technical report writing, design review, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent coordination, team leadership, and client communication skills.

Educational Qualification

B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering is mandatory.

M.E. / M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 17 years of relevant experience in geotechnical design and engineering.

Proven experience in foundation design, geotechnical investigations, and technical design reviews.

Experience in leading design teams and coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams.

Experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects is preferred.
