Job summary

HaystackAnalytics in Navi Mumbai is seeking a Genetic Counsellor to support patient-centric genomic healthcare. You will conduct pre- and post-test counselling, review reports with clinicians, and contribute to case reports and research initiatives.

Ideal candidates hold MSc/PhD in Biomedical Genetics (or MBBS with relevant training) and have experience in genetic counselling, including psychosocial aspects of counselling. Work from office in Turbhe/Navi Mumbai.

Qualifications

• MSc/PhD in Biomedical Genetics or MBBS with relevant training/experience.
• Board-certified Genetic Counsellor – Level 2 preferred; Level 1 acceptable with experience.
• Experience in genetic counselling including pre- and post-test counselling.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre- and post-test genetic counselling for patients and families across reproductive genetics, rare genetic disorders, oncology, and personal genomics.
• Review and explain genetic test reports to patients and clinicians.
• Construct and analyse pedigrees and prepare counselling reports.
• Support genetic variant interpretation, classification, and documentation.
• Collaborate with clinicians, laboratory personnel, and research teams to improve counselling practices.
• Contribute to scientific publications, case reports, and clinical knowledge-sharing initiatives.

We are looking for a Genetic Counsellor to join our Clinical Genetics team and contribute to patient-centric genomic healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre- and post-test genetic counselling for patients and families across reproductive genetics, rare genetic disorders, oncology, and personal genomics.
• Review and explain genetic test reports to patients and clinicians.
• Construct and analyse pedigrees and prepare counselling reports.
• Support genetic variant interpretation, classification, and documentation.

Eligibility Criteria

• MSc/PhD in Biomedical Genetics, Applied Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or related life sciences, or MBBS with relevant training/experience.
• Board-certified Genetic Counsellor – Level 2 preferred; Level 1 acceptable with experience.
• Relevant experience in genetic counselling, including pre- and post-test counselling.
• Familiarity with molecular assays, genomic databases, clinical reporting protocols, and the psychosocial aspects of counselling.
