Job summary

Affine Analytics is seeking a senior GCP/Cloud Data Engineer to design, build and optimize data pipelines at scale for client projects. You will own the BigQuery layer, develop dbt models and data transformations, and guide cloud-architecture decisions with a focus on reliability and security.

The role requires deep SQL and data warehousing knowledge, experience with performance tuning and cost optimization, and strong communication to explain complex concepts to technical and business

• 46 years of experience in GCP / Cloud Engineering / Data Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery.
• Good expertise in dbt and data transformation/modeling.
• Strong understanding of GCP services, cloud architecture, IAM, networking, monitoring, and security.
• Strong SQL and data warehousing knowledge.
• Experience with cloud performance tuning, scalability, reliability, and cost optimisation.
• Strong communication and client-facing consulting skills.
• Ability to independently lead technical discussions and provide recommendations to clients.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

Must-Have Skills

• 46 years of experience in GCP / Cloud Engineering / Data Engineering.


• Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery.


• Good expertise in dbt and data transformation/modeling.


• Strong understanding of GCP services, cloud architecture, IAM, networking, monitoring, and security.


• Strong SQL and data warehousing knowledge.


• Experience with cloud performance tuning, scalability, reliability, and cost optimisation.


• Strong communication and client-facing consulting skills.

• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

Good to Have

• Experience with Python and data engineering frameworks.


• Knowledge of Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and related GCP services.


• Exposure to CI/CD, Terraform/IaC, DevOps practices, and cloud governance.


• Experience working in an IT consulting / professional services environment.


• GCP certification would be an advantage.
