Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a data engineering professional to join a small, agile team. You will design cloud data pipelines, build Looker-based dashboards, and partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into analytical solutions.

You will develop and maintain end-to-end data flows, ensure data quality, and provide production support across near real-time and batch processes. Remote work offered with on-site hybrid options in specified locations.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of experience in data engineering or BI
• Experience with cloud data pipelines and modern data warehouses
• Proficient with Looker-based reporting and LookML modelling
• Strong SQL skills and data transformation capabilities

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud data warehouses and BI solutions
• Develop and maintain reports and analytics using Looker
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver solutions
• Build and test ETL/ELT pipelines in Google Cloud Platform
• Provide production support and troubleshooting for data processes
• Lead technical discussions and coordinate with vendors as needed
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and project governance

Job Description:

Basic Purpose: Work as part of a small, agile team to design and implement business data products utilizing a cloud data pipeline. This individual will work with stakeholders and other members of the information technology team to understand data requirements and deliver reporting and analytical solutions, including both the near real-time and batch processes used to populate the data warehouse from multiple sources.

• Participate in the development of cloud data warehouses and business intelligence solutions.
• Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions using visualization platforms such as Looker.
• Communicate team and project status to project manager and director.
• Knowledge of ETL pipelines in and out of google cloud data platform
• Ability to understand data pipelines and modern ways of automating data pipelines using cloud technologies. Prepare discovery documentation, functional and technical design specifications.
• Develop and test application software that is efficient and meets functional specifications.
• Program debugging and problem troubleshooting.
• Provide implementation and post-implementation production support, including after hours.
• Provide effective technical leadership and expertise.
• Interact with vendors for co-development of solutions.
• Proactive in communication and escalation of concerns.
• Maintain compliance with relevant departmental SOPs and provide updates as needed.
