We are seeking a Public Cloud DevOps Engineer to develop, implement, and operate 24x7 public cloud infrastructure services, primarily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role focuses on designing and deploying cloud solutions, automating infrastructure, supporting migrations from on‑premises environments, and ensuring stable, secure, and high‑performing cloud services for internal Vodafone stakeholders.
Manage integration and administration activities across cloud solutions within an agile, iterative delivery environment. Develop prototypes, modules, and cloud platform components aligned with business outcomes. Conduct peer reviews and maintain high coding and automation standards. Drive automation and integration activities across GCP environments and tenant workloads. Build and deploy GCP infrastructure using Terraform and cloud‑native tools. Use Ansible and Python to automate routine operational tasks, including security hardening and identity management. Provide expert consultancy to support migration and transformation of on‑premises applications to cloud environments. Design and deploy network connectivity between GCP and datacentres. Support and build DevOps culture within the organisation through knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices. Troubleshoot cloud‑related issues across networking, storage, and performance layers. Train and mentor colleagues to strengthen GCP expertise organisation-wide.
Possess strong understanding of cloud technologies, networking, security, and GCP platform services. Skilled in GCP services such as VPC, Compute Instances, Cloud Storage, Kubernetes Engine and Cloud Functions. Experience in automation using Terraform, Ansible and Python. Familiar with DevOps toolchains including GCP Cloud Build/Deploy, GoCD, Docker and Kubernetes. Experienced in multi‑tenant GCP organisation structures. Demonstrate strong documentation and communication capabilities. Hold a degree in IT or equivalent, with experience in cloud computing or enterprise IT. Knowledgeable in ITIL, SOX, security regulations and web hosting concepts. Experienced in operating highly critical enterprise environments. GCP Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification preferred. Exposure to telecommunications environments is beneficial.
