Job summary

Aon plc in Bengaluru (Whitefield) is seeking a GCP Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate workloads on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure aligned with best practices.

The role requires 6-9 years of hands-on GCP experience, a relevant degree, and cloud certifications; you will implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and security controls while collaborating with global teams in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6-9 years of cloud engineering experience, with hands-on GCP experience.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification required or in progress.
• Experience with Terraform/Deployment Manager and CI/CD tooling (Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Responsibilities

• Design and provision GCP infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Implement IAM, VPC Service Controls, Cloud KMS encryption, and security/compliance controls.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployment on GCP.
• Monitor platform health, performance, and cost using Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.
• Support migration of workloads from on-premises to GCP.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and participate in on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with architects and application teams on landing-zone design and governance.
• Maintain documentation and runbooks for GCP environments.

Designs, builds, and operates workloads on Google Cloud Platform in support of Aon's global technology operations, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure aligned with the Google Cloud Well-Architected Framework.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 6-9 years of cloud engineering experience, with hands-on GCP experience
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification required or in progress
• Experience with Terraform/Deployment Manager and CI/CD tooling (Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
