Requirements include MBBS, MD/DNB in General Medicine, DM/DNB/Fellowship in Gastroenterology, with 0–5 years post-specialization and valid registration.

Qualifications

• DM/DNB/Fellowship in Gastroenterology.
• Valid medical registration/license as per local regulatory requirements.
• 0–5 years post-specialization experience (varies by organization).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases.
• Conduct outpatient clinics and inpatient rounds.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as: Upper GI endoscopy (EGD), Colonoscopy, Flexible sigmoidoscopy, Polypectomy, Endoscopic hemostasis, Other advanced endoscopic procedures (based on training and privileges).
• Interpret laboratory, imaging, and pathology results.
• Develop and implement patient management plans.
• Provide emergency gastroenterology consultations when required.
• Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
• Adhere to hospital quality, safety, and infection-control protocols.
• Engage in clinical audits, research, teaching, and continuous medical education activities.
