Job summary

Alter Domus in India seeks an experienced Fund Accountant to lead a team of 10-12 professionals, overseeing end-to-end NAV calculations for Private Credit Funds and ensuring accurate reporting and SLAs.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with auditors, manage fund accounting records, and prepare investor reports, while upholding regulatory standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 8+ years of Fund Accounting experience, Private Credit Funds preferred.
• Strong understanding of private credit fund structures and debt instruments.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Manage a team of 10-12 members, ensuring efficient workflow management and achievement of team objectives.
• Oversee the end-to-end Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation process for Private Credit Funds.
• Utilize strong accounting, finance, and analytical skills to support fund operations and reporting requirements.
• Supervise, mentor, and train team members, including onboarding new employees and providing ongoing guidance and development.
• Ensure all deliverables meet established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality standards
• Administer, review, and report on fund accounting activities while maintaining compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Act as the primary point of contact for auditors, coordinating audit requests and ensuring timely completion of audit requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and onshore stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual investor reports.
• Calculate and review various performance returns.
• Oversee and ensure the timely and accurate execution of capital activities, meeting agreed service levels, quality standards, and client expectations.
• Review accounting records, financial statements, footnotes, and other financial reports in accordance with agreed standards, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
• Review and sign off on SOC 1 checklists and support external SOC audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, audit procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate leadership by driving process improvements, leading projects, and contributing to operational enhancements.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of fund governing documents, client agreements, and investor reporting requirements.
• Review fund documentation to ensure compliance with client agreements and applicable policies.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related field).
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience in Fund Accounting, with a focus on Private Credit Funds.
• Strong understanding of private credit fund structures and debt instruments like Syndicated Loans, Direct Lending Investments, Mezzanine Debt, CLOs.
• Good understanding of Capital Calls, Distributions, Management Fees, and Waterfall Calculations.
• Exposure to Loan Accounting including JEs – Interest Accruals, PIK, Paydowns, Prepayments, Defaults, Amortization of OID, Premium, Discount
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Ability to prepare SOPs and drive process improvements.
• Hands-on experience with cash reconciliations and fund operations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
