Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Gurugram, India, is seeking an Officer, Fund Accounting Intermediate Analyst – C11, Hybrid. The role requires extensive fund accounting and financial reporting expertise, with leadership responsibilities and IFRS/US GAAP experience.

Successful candidates will manage a team, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across capital markets back office processes. Prior experience in derivatives, equities, and fixed income is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6–11 years of experience in Fund accounting/Financial Reporting.
• 2–4 years of team handling experience.
• Sound knowledge of Derivatives, Equities and Fixed income securities.
• Qualified accountant or strong working experience in financial reporting preferred.
• Knowledge of Mutual funds and Hedge Funds industry.
• Experience in Financial Reporting per IFRS/US GAAP.
• Experience in capital markets back office processes.
• Experience in process set-up/migration of work from onshore would be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present financial statements per IFRS/US GAAP.
• Prepare MIS and meet SLAs.
• Lead and develop the Fund accounting team.
• Manage relationships with internal and external customers.
• Support process set-up and migrations from onshore.
• Ensure regulatory disclosures like PF are accurate.

In this role, you’re expected to:

• 6 - 11 years of experience in Fund accounting/ Financial Reporting for hedge funds or mutual funds.
• Should have 2-4 years of team handling experience.
• Should have sound understanding of Derivatives, Equities and Fixed income securities.
• Qualified accountant or/and strong working experience in financial reporting will be preferred.
• Should have knowledge of Mutual fund and Hedge Fund industry.
• Should have worked on Financial Reporting profile, responsible for preparation and presentation of various financial statements as per IFRS, US GAAP etc.
• Prior working experience in BPO/captive on capital markets back office processes.
• Experience and expertise in Business Areas - Financial Reporting, Fund accounting
• Experience in process set-up/migration of work from onshore would be preferred
• Preparation/review of financial statements/regulatory reports like- Balance sheet, PnL, SOI, Notes to financial statements. Understanding of regulatory disclosures like form PF
• Acting as subject matter expert for the team
• Following US GAAPs and IFRS
• Ensuring process initiatives and efficiency gain
• Develop strong, pro‑active and highly professional working relationships with all internal and external customers.
• Managing and building a strong team
• Preparation of MIS
• Meet SLAs
• Good Team Player.

• Should be willing to work in shifts and flexible work hours as per process requirements.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

• B. Com, M. Com, Post graduate Degree from a recognized business institute/university, majorly in Accounting or Finance.

• Professional qualifications like CA and CPA will be an added advantage.
• Excellent communication / Domain skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (e.g. MS excel, MS word).
