Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Gurugram, India is seeking an experienced Fund Accounting professional to handle financial reporting for hedge funds or mutual funds.

The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements and regulatory reports in line with applicable GAAP, IFRS, and local standards. You will act as a SME for the team, ensure SLA adherence, assist seniors with performance data, and contribute to process documentation, quality initiatives, and training.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in Fund accounting/Financial Reporting for hedge funds or mutual funds.
• Knowledge about capital markets.
• Strong accounting knowledge.
• Familiarity with Mutual fund and Hedge Fund industry.
• Understanding of derivatives, equities and fixed income.
• Experience in Financial Reporting per IFRS, US GAAP, Lux GAAP and Irish GAAP.
• Background in BPO/captive back office on capital markets processing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements/regulatory reports (Balance sheet, PnL, Schedule of Investment, cash flows, Notes to the accounts) as per applicable GAAP.
• Act as subject matter expert for the team.
• Follow US GAAP, IFRS, Lux GAAP, and IRISH GAAP.
• Assist seniors with performance data and update trackers/KPIs.
• Document processes and SOPs.
• Drive process initiatives and continuous quality improvement.
• Train new team members on processes.
• Meet SLAs and work as a good team player.

Job description

Desired Candidate Profile :

• 4-6 years of experience in Fund accounting/ Financial Reporting for hedge funds or mutual funds.
• Knowledge about capital market.
• Good accounting knowledge is must.
• Should have knowledge of Mutual fund and Hedge Fund industry.
• Should have sound understanding of derivatives, equities and fixed income securities.
• Should have worked on Financial Reporting profile, responsible for preparation and presentation of various financial statements as per IFRS, US GAAP, Lux GAAP and Irish GAAP, etc.
• Prior working experience in BPO/captive on capital markets back office processes.
• Experience and expertise in Business Areas- Middle Office Processing, Financial Reporting, Fund accounting
• Experience in process set-up/migration of work from onshore would be preferred

Key Responsibilities / Functions / Role:

Education

• B. Com, M. Com, Post graduate Degree from a recognized business institute/university, majorly in Accounting or Finance.

• Professional qualifications like CA, CFA, and CPA will be an added advantage.
