Job summary

Iris Software Inc. is hiring for a backend-focused role with strong Python experience and exposure to modern web frameworks. The position emphasizes building scalable services, RESTful APIs, and collaboration with cloud engineering teams.

The role is mostly remote with a requirement to be in the office once a week for workshops, located in India. You’ll work in a fast-growing IT services environment that values ownership and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Python backend development experience.
• Experience with FastAPI, Django or Flask.
• Proficient in RESTful API design and async patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Experience building modern SPAs with React.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement back-end services and interfaces for hosted platforms.
• Build features to abstract infrastructure complexity with clear API workflows.
• Collaborate on architecture and designs with cloud engineering teams.
• Translate product requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.

Job Description

• Design and implement back-end services and front-end UIs for a managed application hosting platform (self-service onboarding, environment provisioning, deployment flows, governance controls).
• Build features that abstract away infrastructure complexity (e.g., multi region, multi cloud, HA/DR patterns) behind clear, intuitive workflows and APIs.
• Use AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, AntiGravity, GitHub Copilot) in a high velocity, high standards environment, framing problems, validating generated code, writing tests, and hardening for production.
• Collaborate on technical architecture & design with clients cloud engineering team
• Translate product requirements into detailed technical designs and implementation plans.
• Implement robust testing, observability, and reliability practices to ensure deterministic infrastructure behavior and predictable deployments.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and sprint ceremonies, working closely with an India based pod and stakeholders.
• Expertise in building production back-end services inPython- 3+ years experience
• Experience with at least one major Python web framework (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask)
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, async patterns, and integration with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in building modern SPAs withReact(ReactJS / ReactJD)
• The role is mostly remote, but we expect once a week in office for workshops.
