Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a senior software engineer to design, build, and own end-to-end web application features across frontend and backend, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. You will collaborate with designers and product managers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

The role focuses on developing responsive UI with HTML/CSS/JS, designing APIs, working with AWS/GCP, and upholding code quality through reviews, testing, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Must have strong hands-on experience in full-stack web development using modern frameworks.
• Solid understanding of web app architecture including client-server communication and API design patterns.
• Proven experience building responsive, scalable UIs with HTML, CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with databases including data modelling and query optimization.
• Experience designing, building and consuming APIs and integrating with third-party services (e.g. cloud providers).
• Strong knowledge of Git workflows, code reviews and maintaining high code quality.

• Design, build, and own end-to-end web application features across front-end and back-end, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate closely with designers and product managers to translate business requirements into well-architected technical solutions
• Develop and maintain front-end applications using modern frameworks, with a strong focus on usability, accessibility, and performance
• Design, implement, and maintain APIs, services, and data models to support product functionality
• Work with cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines to ensure applications are production-ready and scalable
• Review code for quality, performance, security, and maintainability, contributing to a strong engineering culture
• Promote best practices for testing, CI/CD, and DevOps integration across the full stack

Stay up to date with emerging web technologies, frameworks, and best practices to continuously improve the product and developer experience

Preferred candidate profile

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering or architecture, with at least 3 years in a web development
• [Mandatory] Strong hands-on experience in both frontend and backend web development using modern frameworks (e.g. React/Next.js, Node.js, Python or similar)
• [Mandatory] Solid understanding of web application architecture, including client-server communication, RESTful APIs design patterns
• [Mandatory] Proven experience building responsive, scalable and performant user interface using HTML, CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript
• [Mandatory] Hands-on experience with database including data modelling and query optimization
• [Mandatory] Experience designing, building and consuming APIs and integrating with third party services (e.g. GCP services)
• [Mandatory] Strong knowledge of Git workflows, code review and maintaining high code quality standards
• [Mandatory] Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and development workflows
• [Mandatory] Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and modern deployment workflows
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with designers, product managers and other engineers
