Job summary

Sonata Software is seeking a senior backend engineer skilled in JavaScript/TypeScript to design and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js, with a strong focus on serverless AWS services and secure API layers. You will work in an Agile/Scrum environment to build scalable microservices and integrate CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, and testing frameworks, plus collaboration with cross-functional teams across locations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in backend/API development.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js and cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build serverless applications with AWS Lambda.
• Implement API layers using AWS API Gateway.
• Design event-driven workflows with AWS EventBridge.
• Ensure API security using OAuth 2.0, JWT, IAM, HTTPS and rate limiting.
• Write unit and integration tests with Jest or Vitest.
• Optimize backend performance, scalability and reliability.
• Integrate services with CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Support production systems and handle incidents when required.
