Job summary

Vanguard is expanding its India office in Hyderabad and seeks an expert-level IT technical lead to deliver scalable, secure backend architectures and high-availability applications. • Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, architecture, and system integration.

• Hands-on experience with React.js, Node.js, AWS, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST API development, and Micro Front-End (MFE) architecture.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, Confluence, JIRA, and driving continuous improvement across engineering processes, workflows, and delivery practices.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across business and technology teams.

Role Summary

This role provides expert-level IT technical lead services, including the integration and implementation of technologies, while applying deep backend expertise to optimize performance, ensure secure architecture, and enhance system scalability.

Responsibilites

• Provides expert-level technical leadership for critical software, middleware, or hardware projects across multiple platforms, ensuring successful architecture, development, and implementation. Evaluates and approves development options and technical deliverables. Oversees comprehensive testing for functionality, performance, and security.
• Approves technical solutions proposed by team members, resolves complex technical problems, and anticipates issues to enable preventive action.
• Acts as a key technical liaison with stakeholders, effectively communicating technical implications, project risks, and solution strategies.
• Maintains expertise in IT methodologies, architecture design, and enterprise standards; mentors staff and ensures team adoption of evolving standards.
• Reviews, authors, and approves technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Drives continuous improvement in technical standards, methodologies, and the adoption of emerging technologies.
• Participates in product life cycle reviews (design, code, test), and serves as a technical advisor across project meetings.
• Ensures compliance with IT and Information Security policies, validating that deliverables meet internal and external requirements.
• Leads or contributes to special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
• Applies deep server-side development skills, focusing on performance optimization, secure architecture, and database efficiency.
• Troubleshoots complex system performance issues and recommends improvements to optimize data flow across services and APIs.
• Ensures scalable and resilient backend functionality, with proactive measures for increased system demands.

Qualifications And Skills

• Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, architecture, and system integration.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or IT, or Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (BCA), or Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA).
• Expertise in software architecture, system design, and technical leadership for enterprise-scale applications.
• Strong hands‑on experience in React.js, Node.js, AWS, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST API development, and Micro Front-End (MFE) architecture. Experience with AWS services including CloudFormation, ECS, Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, and IAM is highly preferred.
• Experience building scalable, resilient, and high-availability customer-facing applications, with a strong understanding of application performance, reliability, and engineering best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with Agile methodologies, Confluence, JIRA, and driving continuous improvement across engineering processes, workflows, and delivery practices.
• Strong experience in API integration and development using REST-based services. Exposure to GraphQL is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize application and system performance.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across business and technology teams.
• Experience mentoring engineering teams, establishing technical standards, conducting design reviews, and driving technical excellence.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, globally distributed teams and partner closely with Product Owners, Architects, Engineering Leaders, and SRE teams.
