Full Stack Engineer

As a Full-Stack Engineer, you’ll be working on new features from scratch on top of our existing React + NodeJS + Firebase platform. You’ll collaborate closely with the founders, designing and implementing solutions that improve workflows, handle complex payment integrations, and scale with our customers. This is not a role for someone who just executes — you’ll be expected to problem‑solve, debug, and take ownership of the features you build.

We are especially interested in candidates from good pedigree colleges, with strong high school scores and demonstrably high IQ/aptitude, who have experience in early‑stage startups (companies with fewer than 10 employees) and are comfortable with high ownership and ambiguity. The role is full-time night shift, and you must be able to reliably work and stay active during working hours until 12 PM PST (noon Pacific time) / 1:30 AM IST, without overlap issues or sleep‑related disruptions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build end-to-end features on our SaaS platform using ReactJS (frontend), NodeJS (backend), and Firebase (infrastructure).
  • Develop complex workflows such as kitchen task management: assign and track work among decorators, staff dashboards, and reporting.
  • Payment integrations with Stripe: handling multiple business models, fees, taxes, and splitting payments across parties with clear reporting.
  • Collaborate with founders on requirements, technical feasibility, and solution design.
  • Debug and resolve issues with minimal oversight.
  • Ensure features are scalable, tested, and production‑ready for use by multiple bakeries.
  • Participate in technical discussions and defend your design choices.
  • Work independently in a remote‑first environment, staying proactive and self‑driven.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and communication in a full‑time night shift aligned to U.S. morning hours (up to 12 PM PST / 1:30 AM IST).
What We’re Looking For
  • 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in ReactJS, NodeJS, and Firebase.
  • Experience in building and shipping products/features (professional work or personal projects).
  • Strong grasp of API integration, third‑party services, and SaaS product development.
  • Ability to debug complex issues and get “unstuck” independently.
  • Balanced front‑end + back‑end capabilities (we’re not looking for front‑end‑heavy or back‑end‑heavy profiles).
  • Clear communication skills — capable of debating technical decisions confidently.
  • A proactive, problem‑solving mindset that thrives in fast‑moving, startup environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred). Strong technical ability can substitute for pedigree.
  • Preference for candidates from strong academic backgrounds (good pedigree colleges, good high school scores) with good IQ/analytical ability.
  • Prior early‑stage startup experience (ideally at companies with <10 employees) where you have handled ambiguity, high ownership, and fast iteration.
  • Highly communicative and reliable, especially during night shift hours, with discipline to stay engaged and not sleep during working hours.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
  • Experience with Stripe or similar payment gateways.
  • Exposure to serverless architectures and microservices.
  • Knowledge of POS systems or restaurant tech.
  • Previous experience in SaaS startups.
Work Environment & Team Structure
  • You’ll be reporting directly to the founders (CEO & CTO).
  • Day‑to‑day work will be primarily with the CTO (co‑founder).
  • Remote role, but must have a few hours of overlap with the U.S. morning time zone (up to 12 PM PST / 1:30 AM IST).
  • Expectation to handle predefined requirements independently (while unpredictable, urgent work is handled in‑house by the founders).
  • This is a full‑time night shift position with a strong expectation of reliability, responsiveness, and professional behaviour throughout the shift.
