Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking a senior full stack developer in Gurugram, India to own a product module from requirement to production release. This hands-on IC role requires designing data models, building Java backend services, and creating React front ends. You will unit test, review code, deploy, and provide post-release support.

You will work with AI coding assistants and modern tooling to accelerate development while keeping quality high, including code reviews and CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience in Java and related tech.
• Strong command of core Java, OOP, collections, concurrency and JVM fundamentals.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data and REST API design.
• MongoDB schema design, indexing, aggregation, and query optimisation.
• Proven track record delivering features end-to-end with minimal supervision.
• Experience using AI coding assistants in daily workflow.
• Proficiency with Git, branching strategies and PR-based development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and containerised deployment (Docker).
• Strong problem-solving and clear communication skills.

Job description

We are looking for a senior full stack developer who can own a product module from requirement to production release without hand-holding. This is a hands-on individual contributor role: you will design the data model, build the Java backend services, develop the React front end, write your own unit tests, and see the feature through code review, deployment and post-release support.

The person we are looking for is comfortable being the only engineer on a feature. You will be expected to make sound architectural calls, raise risks early, and use modern AI development tools to move faster without lowering the quality bar.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own full product features end to end - requirement analysis, technical design, database schema, backend APIs, front-end implementation, testing, deployment and production support.
• Design and build backend services in Java (Spring Boot) - REST APIs, business logic, integrations with third-party and internal systems.
• Develop responsive, component-driven user interfaces in React, with clean state management and reusable components.
• Model MongoDB schemas, indexes and aggregation pipelines; tune queries and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Write unit tests and integration tests for all code you deliver (JUnit/Mockito on the backend, Jest/React Testing Library on the front end) and maintain meaningful coverage.

• Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release readiness.
• Document technical design, API contracts and deployment steps so the work is transferable to the rest of the team.
• Work directly with product, QA and stakeholders - translate business requirements into a working solution and give realistic estimates.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience in Java, including strong command of core Java, OOP, collections, concurrency and JVM fundamentals.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data and REST API design.
• Solid working knowledge of MongoDB - schema design, indexing, aggregation framework, and query optimisation
• Proven track record of delivering features independently, end to end, with minimal supervision.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants (Claude, Claude Code, Copilot or equivalent) as part of the day-to-day development workflow.
• Proficiency with Git, branching strategies and pull-request based development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar) and containerised deployment (Docker).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make and defend design decisions.
• Clear written and verbal communication - able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

GOOD TO HAVE

• Experience with microservices architecture and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Cloud experience on AWS or Azure - EKS/Kubernetes, S3, managed databases.
• Exposure to TypeScript, Next.js or modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack).
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) alongside MongoDB.
• Performance profiling and application monitoring experience (ELK, Grafana, APM tools).
