Description

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), headquartered in Bengaluru with a satellite office in Pune, is the largest R&D center for Mercedes-Benz Group AG outside of Germany. Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own the logic and data integrity of our service layer. You will be working primarily with Kotlin to manage a distributed architecture that interfaces with various gateway systems and legacy Gorilla services.

Key Responsibilities

• Service Development: Design and maintain high-performance microservices using Kotlin.
• Data Management: Manage a polyglot database environment, including Managed MongoDB (per‑service architecture) and PostgreSQL for batch processing.
• Security & Auth: Implement and maintain complex authentication flows via GAS and ALICE, managing traffic through Kong Gateway and Ingress Controllers.
• System Integration: Act as the technical lead for integrating critical systems such as CMDS, GSSN+, and Digital Signature Services.
• Legacy Modernization: Oversee the integration of 3rd party legacy systems via the Gorilla service.
• Operations: Support the release management process in Azure DevOps and handle incident tracking via ServiceNOW and JIRA.

Technical Qualifications

• Languages: Strong expertise in Kotlin.
• Databases: Proficiency in MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
• Infrastructure: Experience with Kong Gateway, Ingress Controllers, and Azure Storage Accounts.
• Integrations: Proven track record of connecting disparate systems (CMDS, ALICE, GAS).
• Security: Familiarity with Blackduck and secure API design.
