Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Backend Test Analyst to validate backend applications, databases, interfaces, and batch processes through functional and automated testing. The role requires strong Unix/Linux, Python, SQL, and backend testing skills, along with disciplined defect management and Agile collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business and technical requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, test data, and coverage traceability for backend systems.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, batch, interface, and database testing across Unix/Linux environments.
- Develop and maintain Python-based automated tests, utilities, and validation scripts for backend processes.
- Validate data using SQL queries and investigate failures through logs, files, database records, and Unix/Linux commands.
- Identify, document, track, retest, and close defects in collaboration with developers, analysts, and product stakeholders.
- Integrate relevant automated tests into Jenkins/CI/CD pipelines and manage test assets through GitHub where applicable.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, provide clear test status reporting, and contribute to quality and process improvements.
- Explore practical use of AI-assisted testing for test design, execution efficiency, and defect analysis where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in backend, database, and integration testing.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Unix/Linux, Python, SQL, backend validation, and test automation.
- Good understanding of test lifecycle, defect management, batch processing, interfaces, and database reconciliation.
- Experience with Jira, Zephyr, Jenkins/CI/CD, and GitHub is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

- Ownership of assigned deliverables with attention to quality and timelines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional and geographically distributed teams.
