Job summary

Covestic Inc. is seeking an ML/AI engineer to maintain the OpenAI API integration layer and ensure smooth production deployments on AWS ECS. The role involves managing prompt flows, API calls, and cost hygiene while integrating with enterprise data sources and third-party APIs.

The ideal candidate will have strong Python, experience with LLM APIs, and familiarity with CI/CD and Terraform/IaC practices to support ongoing promotions and runbook documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong Python programming skills with experience in ML/AI workflows.
• Hands-on experience building on OpenAI or equivalent LLM APIs.
• Proficiency in deploying and managing services on AWS ECS and containerized environments.
• Experience with data lake / enterprise data platforms and third-party APIs.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and IaC tooling like Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support OpenAI API integration layer, including prompt flows, API calls, error handling, and performance/cost hygiene.
• Support deployment and operation on AWS ECS with Terraform-managed infrastructure; manage environment promotions with BA and QA.
• Maintain integrations with EDF, web sources, Dun & Bradstreet, and Beroe; complete ongoing Beroe connection.
• Fix defects surfaced in UAT/production; implement bounded improvements without expanding scope.
• Absorb knowledge transfer from AI&D team and document technical runbooks for future product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the application's OpenAI API integration layer — prompt flows, API calls, error handling, performance and cost hygiene.
• Support deployment and operation on AWS ECS with Terraform-managed infrastructure; execute environment promotions with the BA and QA.
• Maintain integrations with EDF (Enterprise Data Fabric), web sources, Dun & Bradstreet and Beroe; complete the in-progress Beroe connection.
• Fix defects surfaced in UAT/production; make bounded enhancements without opening new feature scope.
• Absorb knowledge transfer from the AI&D team and document the technical runbook for the future product team.

Must-Have

• Experience: 5 to 7years
• Data science / ML engineering foundation with strong Python; practical experience building on LLM APIs (OpenAI or equivalent).
• Production deployment fluency: AWS (ECS preferred), containers, CI/CD, Terraform/IaC awareness.
• Data integration experience (data lake / enterprise data platforms, third-party APIs).

Nice-to-Have

• Regulated-pharma environment exposure; agentic-AI orchestration patterns; procurement/market-intelligence data familiarity.
