Job summary

HSBC Software Development India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead frontend initiatives and deliver enterprise-scale web apps. You will drive architecture, mentor teams, and ensure accessible, high-performance user experiences across platforms.

You will collaborate with backend engineers, participate in sprint planning, and advance reusable UI frameworks and design systems while adopting modern testing and deployment practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading frontend engineering teams in enterprise-scale web apps.
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and TypeScript with responsive design.
• Experience with modern frameworks, React preferred, and state management libraries.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git and automated testing practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high performance frontend applications and platforms
• Drive frontend architecture decisions, technology selection and engineering best practices across projects
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver intuitive and responsive user experience.
• Mentor and guide frontend engineers by conducting code reviews, technical coaching, and establishing development standards.
• Ensure adherence to modern frontend engineering principles including component-driven development, accessibility, performance optimization, security, and responsive design.
• Define and implement reusable UI frameworks, design systems, and frontend governance standards. Participate in sprint planning, estimation, technical discussions, and release management activities.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions for performance bottlenecks and frontend scalability challenges.
• Drive automation practices including frontend testing, CI/CD integration, and quality engineering processes.
• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies, frameworks, and industry trends to continuously improve engineering capabilities.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align frontend solutions with enterprise architecture and business goals.
• Contribute to innovation initiatives, proof of concepts, and modernization programs related to web and digital platforms.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript and responsive web development including web workers
• Proven experience leading frontend engineering teams and delivering enterprise-scale web applications
• Strong experience in frontend engineering with expertise in modern frameworks such as REACT, frontend architecture patterns, micro frontend concepts, and component-based development
• Hands-on experience with state management libraries, API integrations, and frontend performance optimization techniques
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and version control systems such as GIT. Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern deployment practices is preferred.
• Excellent communications and stakeholder Management skills with the ability to collaborate across distributed teams.
• Ability to mentor engineers, drive technical discussions, and influence engineering direction.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
