Job summary

Money Forward, partnered with SMFG and SMBC, is building a next-generation digital bank in India with hubs in Chennai and Pune. We are seeking a visionary Frontend Engineer who thrives in greenfield fintech projects and cares about UI/UX performance at scale.

You will join a cross-functional team to craft frontend architectures for embedded financial products, leveraging modern cloud-native infra and AI-assisted workflows. 4+ years of React/TypeScript experience is essential.

Qualifications

• We are seeking self-driven engineers with strong problem-solving abilities and experience in building enterprise-grade frontend systems.
• 4+ years of professional experience building scalable web applications with React and TypeScript.
• Solid proficiency with state management libraries, asynchronous API integration (REST/GraphQL), and modern CSS frameworks (Shadcn UI/Material UI, Tailwind, or styled-components).
• Strong understanding of web security fundamentals (OAuth2, OIDC, XSS, CSRF) and performance tuning.
• Experience with frontend testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright)).
• Practical experience with Git, CI/CD automation pipelines, and containerized deployments (Docker).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance, accessible, and responsive web applications using TypeScript, React, and modern UI toolkits.
• Partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Backend Engineers to translate banking domain workflows into seamless frontend experiences.
• Drive UI architecture, design systems, state management, and web performance optimization for fintech applications.
• Champion integrated testing at unit, Storybook, and Playwright levels and adhere to non-functional quality standards (web security, accessibility, Core Web Vitals) within CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate GenAI tools to boost developer productivity and streamline workflows.
• Lead sprint execution as a technical mentor and Scrum contributor across the SDLC.

The team consists of cross-functional members Product Managers, Backend Engineers, Frontend Engineers, QA Engineers, and SRE working together with tight communication throughout the development process.

Responsibilities and duties

As a Software Engineer in the Application Development Team, you will leverage Mambu, a leading cloud banking platform for neobanks and challenger banks, to build one of the most reliable and agile banking systems in the industry. Our goal is to shape the future of digital banking in Japan, making it more accessible and user-friendly than ever before.

• Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance, accessible, and responsive web applications using TypeScript, React, and modern UI toolkits (Shadcn, Tailwind CSS, TanStack).
• Partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Backend Engineers to translate complex banking domain workflows (CLM, loans, transactional channels) into seamless frontend experiences.
• Drive UI architecture, design systems, state management, and web performance optimization for mission-critical fintech applications.
• Champion integrates testing at different layers like unit , storybook and playwright testing and non-functional quality standards (web security, accessibility,WCAG, Core Web Vitals) within modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate GenAI tools and workflows (Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT) to boost developer productivity and streamline operational processes.
• Lead sprint execution as a technical mentor and Scrum contributor, taking end-to-end ownership across the software development lifecycle.

• Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT) for development workflows.
• Experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and micro-frontend architectures.
