About the Role
Define information architecture and navigation structure; standardize layout, theming, typography, spacing, and responsive breakpoints. We’re looking for a UX-focused Front-End Engineer to own the coherence of our Next.js SaaS platform from information architecture and navigation to visual design tokens and component libraries. You’ll work across engineering to define scalable patterns and deliver production-grade UI built with React, Next.js, and TypeScript. Expect fast build–measure–learn cycles in a lean environment with minimal PM overhead.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Design System v1 — design tokens, component library (20–40 core components), and usage documentation.
- Implement production-ready UI using React + Next.js + TypeScript with strong focus on accessibility (ARIA, keyboard, contrast) and performance.
- Create guardrails that ensure UI consistency and quality (Storybook, visual diffs, linting, accessibility/performance checks).
- Automate quality checks to maintain design and accessibility standards across multiple contributors.
- Validate UX decisions through analytics, usability testing, and fast iteration on real user feedback.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering or Information of Technology or equivalent.
Required Skills
- 3–5 years building modern web SaaS products with clear UX ownership.
- Strong experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Proficient with modern CSS (Tailwind or equivalent).
- Skilled in Figma and familiar with design system development (tokens, components, versioning, documentation).
- Solid grasp of a11y and performance best practices.
- Comfortable working in async, fast-paced, lean startup environments.
- Experience integrating REST or GraphQL APIs and collaborating on contracts with backend teams.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with TanStack (Query/Router), Storybook, Vite, and testing tools like RTL / Playwright.
- Experience with aXe, Lighthouse, or Chromatic for accessibility and visual regression testing.
- Basic understanding of Node.js/Python and CI/CD pipelines.
Equal Opportunity Statement
We are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
