Position: Senior Engineer Lead
Experience: 9-12 Years
Location: Pune, India

Overview

We are looking for a senior Software Engineer leader who can drive modern frontend development using Angular with an AI‑first approach. In this role, you will define how user‑facing applications are designed and built, making sure they perform well, are easy to use, and stay consistent across platforms. You will work closely with business and engineering teams to deliver practical solutions that meet real user needs. A key part of the role is driving the use of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to speed up development, improve code quality, and simplify complex UI workflows. You will set standards, guide teams, and make sure frontend systems can grow easily and are easy to maintain. Strong Angular skill is required, along with hands‑on experience using AI tools in development, and a basic understanding of LLMs (AI language models) and how AI fits into applications. This role is for someone who can lead both the technology and the delivery, and help teams build faster and smarter using AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead AI‑First Frontend Development: Define and drive the plan for building modern Angular applications with AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Copilot Chat, agent‑based tools) built into every stage of development.
• Design Systems That Can Grow Easily: Design and deliver scalable, high‑performing, and easy‑to‑maintain Angular applications that work consistently across platforms and devices.
• Drive UX & Usability Standards: Work with design, product, and business teams to make sure user‑facing applications are easy to use, accessible, and match real user needs.
• Simplify Complex UI Workflows: Use AI tools and modern Angular patterns to simplify complex UI flows, speed up delivery, and reduce engineering effort.
• Set Frontend Engineering Standards: Set and enforce standards for Angular structure, component design, state management, performance, accessibility, and AI‑assisted development.
• Improve Code Quality with AI: Drive the use of AI tools to improve code quality, testing coverage, code reviews, and developer productivity.
• Technical Leadership: Provide hands‑on technical direction, run design and code reviews, and guide engineers to raise the frontend engineering standard.
• Work with Backend & Platform Teams: Work closely with backend, API, and platform teams to make sure the frontend, services, and AI components connect smoothly.
• Own Delivery: Lead both the technology and the delivery — making sure frontend projects are delivered on time, with quality, and with measurable results.
• Keep Improving: Review new frontend frameworks, AI tools, and patterns; test new approaches and put the useful ones into regular practice.

Skills and Experience

• Core Angular Skill (9–12 Years): Strong, hands‑on experience building large‑scale applications in Angular (modern versions), including component structure, RxJS, state management (NgRx or similar), routing, forms, and performance tuning.
• Modern Frontend Stack: Deep skill in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and modern build tools (Angular CLI, Webpack, Vite, etc.).
• AI‑Boosted Development: Proven, hands‑on use of AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Copilot Chat, agent‑based tools) to speed up development without lowering quality.
• LLM & AI Awareness: Basic, working understanding of LLMs and how AI features (chat, suggestions, summaries, RAG‑based features) connect into user‑facing applications through APIs.
• UI/UX Engineering: Strong sense of design, usability, accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, and consistent use of a shared design system.
• Performance & Improvement: Experience improving Angular application performance — lazy loading, change detection, bundle size, rendering, and Core Web Vitals.
• API Integration: Strong grounding in REST, WebSockets, and event‑driven APIs; experience connecting frontends with microservices and AI/LLM‑backed services.
• Quality Engineering: Commitment to clean code, SOLID principles, automated testing (unit, integration, end‑to‑end with Jasmine/Karma/Jest/Cypress/Playwright), and AI‑assisted test creation.
• DevOps & Automation: Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines, version control workflows, code quality tools (ESLint, Prettier, SonarQube), and automation‑first thinking.
• Secure & Responsible Frontend: Awareness of frontend security (XSS, CSRF, login flows), privacy, and responsible AI use when adding AI features to the UI.
• Design Systems & Reusability: Experience building and expanding shared component libraries, design systems, and reusable UI patterns across multiple applications.
• Soft Skills Vision & Direction‑Setting: Ability to set a clear technical vision for AI‑first frontend engineering and influence its use across teams.
• Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead without formal authority, align stakeholders, and drive change across multiple engineering and product groups.
• Communication: Strong written and spoken communication skills; able to explain complex frontend and AI ideas to engineers, designers, product, and business stakeholders.
