Job summary

Skyfall AI is seeking a backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems from ground up. You will own architecture, design, testing, and deployment, building robust APIs and core platform components.

Work closely with founders and product teams to translate business needs into technical solutions. You will make key architectural decisions for scalability and performance, and contribute to engineering culture and standards.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of professional backend/software engineering experience.
• Strong programming in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, OOP, and software fundamentals.
• Experience designing REST APIs and backend services.
• Strong SQL/database concepts.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, or scalable architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Good understanding of Git, testing, CI/CD, and deployment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services.
• Strong understanding of database concepts and SQL.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, or scalable backend architectures.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Good understanding of software development practices, including Git, testing, CI/CD, and deployment.
