Job summary

Persistent Systems Limited is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work directly with customers and engineering teams to design, build, and deploy scalable, secure solutions. The role bridges customer requirements with execution, emphasizing cloud platforms, microservices, and enterprise data platforms.

The ideal candidate has 7 to 12 years of experience, strong communication skills, and expertise in modern software development practices, DevOps, and AI-enabled transformation

Qualifications

• 7 to 12 years of software engineering or solution engineering experience.
• Hands-on in enterprise-grade applications and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, API integrations, and microservices.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and implementations.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Partner directly with customers to understand business challenges, goals, requirements, and success criteria.
• Conduct discovery workshops and collaborate with stakeholders to identify high-value business opportunities.
• Lead use-case identification, solution planning, and prioritization based on business value and ROI.
• Design and develop proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and production-grade solutions.
• Build scalable applications leveraging cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, data platforms, and enterprise technologies.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, architecture, and implementation plans.
• Develop reusable frameworks, accelerators, reference architectures, and solution components.
• Drive end-to-end solution deployment, testing, integration, and production rollout activities.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, engineering teams, and delivery teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Monitor production systems and proactively identify performance, scalability, and reliability improvements.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize application and platform performance.
• Present technical solutions, architecture recommendations, and demonstrations to customers and executive stakeholders.
• Support customer adoption, onboarding, and solution enablement activities.
• Ensure solutions adhere to security, compliance, governance, and privacy requirements.
• Contribute to innovation initiatives involving AI, cloud modernization, automation, and enterprise transformation programs.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 7 to 12 years of overall experience in software engineering, solution engineering, customer-facing technical consulting, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience developing enterprise-grade applications and distributed systems.
• Experience working with cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, API integrations, and Microservices Architecture.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, and resilient solutions.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Experience working directly with customers, business users, and executive stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Experience delivering proof‑of‑concepts, pilot solutions, and production deployments.
• Familiarity with modern software development practices and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with system integration and enterprise application architecture.
• Knowledge of AI/ML, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG, AI Agents, or enterprise AI solutions is preferred.
• Understanding of observability, monitoring, and operational excellence practices.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, containerization, and orchestration platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience using GitHub Actions, Git, and modern development workflows.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools for production environments.
• Ability to work effectively across cross‑functional, globally distributed teams.
