Position: FMCG Sales Manager – Modern Trade

Location: Delhi (Bikaji Cama)

Experience: 2–7 Years

We are looking for an energetic and structured Modern Trade Sales Manager who understands how to drive business across MT chains, modern retail formats, and organised key accounts. This role requires someone who knows the rhythm of FMCG sales, understands retail dynamics deeply, and can own both execution and growth.

You will manage modern trade partners, key accounts, planograms, visibility, promotions, and fill rates — and build strong internal coordination with supply chain, marketing, and finance.

This role is for someone who knows how to make stores move, drive velocity, and build relationships that unlock scale.

Key Responsibilities:
Modern Trade & Key Accounts
  • Manage end-to-end relationships with MT partners (Reliance, DMart, Spar, Spencer’s, Big Bazaar, Amazon/Flipkart Grocery, etc. — as relevant).
  • Drive listing, activation, promotions, visibility, new product introductions, and closures.
  • Own sell-in, sell-out, and secondary sales numbers across assigned regions/accounts.
  • Negotiate JTBDs, margins, schemes, visibility budgets, and contracts with accounts.
Execution & Operations
  • Ensure 100% product availability, fill rates, and hygiene across stores.
  • Lead in-store execution – planograms, branding, merchandising, sampling, and activation.
  • Work closely with merchandisers and promoters to optimize execution.
Growth & Analysis
  • Track performance of each MT chain and outlet; analyse sales trends, velocity, and competition.
  • Build monthly sales forecasts, stock planning, and assortment strategy.
  • Strategise and deploy trade marketing initiatives to drive volume and brand presence.
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work with marketing on MT-specific campaigns and promotions.
  • Coordinate with supply chain to ensure smooth logistics, replenishment, and dispatch tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with account-level processes and documentation.
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
  • 2–7 years of experience in FMCG Modern Trade sales (snacks, food, premium, beverages, or similar categories preferred).
  • Strong understanding of MT ecosystem, buyer relationships, retail processes, and sales cycles.
  • Proven experience in handling key accounts, MT chains, and territory expansion.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and drive outcomes independently.
  • Self-driven, accountable, structured, and execution-focused.
Preferred:
  • Experience in D2C + MT hybrid brands or fast-growing FMCG startups.
  • Understanding of planogram optimization, category management, and in-store visibility tactics.
  • Strong analytical skills with comfort using dashboards and sales reporting tools.
